The Linux Security Audit project started around the time Red Hat 5.1 came
out. What they found affected *all* Linux software; Red Hat was reasonably
timely about releasing updates as problems were found. (As was Debian, but
the effect was somewhat obscured by the fact that Debian held Hamm back
until *after* the audit ended.)
