What use are the MSDOS and UMSDOS filesystems?

Personally, I don't use either for anything. I don't even have either
compiled into my kernel...

I have an MSDOS partition, used with MSDOS 6.22 and WIndows 3.11,
which I share data with, but I mount it using the VFAT file system so
as to minimise name mangling and related problems.
