Hello,

this is a success report.

[azuth]/root> gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-pc-linux-gnu/egcs-2.92.15/specs
gcc version egcs-2.92.15 19981012 (gcc2 ss-980609 experimental)

The kernel was compiled with standard switches (-O2 -m486).

During the boot _all_ the partitions was fsck'ed (urgh ... it was
'max number of mounts' limit, and fortunately enought no errors was
found during fsck and no kernel locks or panics and no filesystem
trashing):

Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity Mounted on
/dev/hda3 118965 14320 98497 13% /
/dev/hda1 48764 2453 43793 5% /boot
/dev/hda4 813582 221345 550204 29% /home
/dev/sda1 1014784 737596 266702 73% /usr
/dev/sda3 1014784 627343 376954 62% /var
/dev/sda5 1014784 971762 32536 97% /u
/dev/sda6 1014784 106110 856240 11% /cdrw

SCSI controller: aha2940uw (no timeouts since now but I can't say
nothing about because they was casual).

Sound seems ok even if I hear clicks in playing mp3 files. This problem
was present in 2.1.125 too and I have never applied Alan's ac patches to
check if he alredy solved this problem.
Sorry Alan but I have had so many problems with pre patches that I don't
want to risk any more.

Ciao,
Riccardo.
