Weird lockup under 2.1.127 (and SCSI CDROM problems under 2.1.126)

Hi,

I've just tried 2.1.127 and had a weird lockup. It seemed
that everything was functioning fine except that every access
to the file system would result in a hung process.

The events leading up to this were: I burnt a CD with xcdroast
(SCSI CDR) and then went to burn another copy and the lockup
occurred. (I clicked the 'WRITE' button on xcdroast/quick copy
and then xcdroast locked up).

I pressed 'reset' and there were no entries in /var/log/messages
which would indicate anything wrong.

I suspect that the system was swapping ok, just accesses to the
ext2 would stall (?).

Also, under 2.1.126, I occasionally get read past end of file errors
from the kernel. This only happens if I pound the hard disk while
accessing a scsi cdrom. (This has been happening for a lot of
kernel versions ... I always have to 'wc' the cd image first to
make sure all is ok otherwise I waste a cd.) {I couldn't check this
under 2.1.127 due to the lock up.}

Help!
