Mutli-homing under 2.1.x (2.1.127 and later)

I've got a machine running 2.1.127 that I'd
like to try and get working multi-homed. It already
has two internet connections (a 28.8k dialup, and a
ADSL ethernet connection).
However I don't know how to get it to understand
that if something comes in over the ADSL, I want the
response to go back out the ADSL.
Perhaps this isn't possible, I dunno, but I would
have thought it would have been. I'd like to be able to
ping both halves of the machine from out on the internet
somewhere. At the moment I can ping the one that has the
default route set to go out it.
Also on my wishlist would be to set the machine up
to do ip masq'ing for certain ports so that they get masq'ed
as coming from the gateway machine, but only for certain
ports and all other ports get passed normally through the
ppp dialup. Is this at all possible, or am I just dreaming?

Thanks

Stephen
