More on quick slowdown with 2.1.127 and 2.1.128

Well, call me a moron. The fast slowdown was because I was (stupidly)
running kerneld and kmod together, and they were fighting. I still have
a slowdown that's much faster than other people are reporting, but not
nearly so fast as it was. I'm still investigating.
