SMP and gpm/psaux.

Has anyone experienced problems with gpm on an SMP linux box? All the
other linux machines
never had any trouble with gpm while our only SMP linux refuses to run
it. gpm cores out.
To be more precise, the psaux module seems to have gone berserk. I have
a twin PII here
running kernel 2.0.35 with 128Mb of memory. Below is the error message
from
/var/log/messages:
