Second: (from configuration help)

Saying Y to this option will produce two modules ( = code which can
be inserted in and removed from the running kernel whenever you
want), one encapsulator called tunnel.o and one decapsulator called
ipip.o. You can read details in drivers/net/README.tunnel. Most
people won't need this and can say N.

Is inaccurate as well. There doesn't seem to be a file README.tunnel in
the source at all, let alone at the location specified.

I would consider these "bugs" that need to be fixed before 2.2. I don't
know where to begin looking for the correct information, but maybe
someone else does now that I have brought it up. (And yes, I do need
this feature very much, especially if there is a way of encrypting it
there by making it easy to set up a Linux VPN with "floating" (dynamic)
members, such as laptops on ppp links.
