If I get a media error on a SCSI Tape (pretty common with Exabyte drives),
when using tar to back-up a file-system, the process goes into
"down_failed" and can't be killed. The tape-drive remains "busy" and
can't be reused without a re-boot.
I thought this problem was fixed about a year ago. It's now back.
