Unplugging/Re-connecting PS/2 mouse disables PS/2 keyboard.

I can only say that (un)plugging a PS/2 mouse with power on is
traditionally perceived as a Bad Thing (both for the mouse and for the
MB). AFAIK the PS/2 port is not protected against transients and other
electrical stuff (like RS232)....
