Possibly. But the two are driven by slightly different things. Thats actually
one of the good thing about Linus not working for a company so the main tree
stays "purist" and "done right".

It won't be a first either - GCOM streams shipped by Caldera is another example
of this. Its not a big problem barring keeping syscall numbers straight.
