Something new is happening in 2.1.132-2:

Dual PII-300, PCI NE2000 clone, SMP Kernel

ne2k-pci.c:v0.99L 2/7/98 D. Becker/P. Gortmaker
http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/ne2k-pci.html
ne2k-pci.c: PCI NE2000 clone 'Compex RL2000' at I/O 0xef00, IRQ 3.
eth0: PCI NE2000 found at 0xef00, IRQ 3, 00:80:48:C4:E2:F1.

Using the ethernet:

[...]

eth0: Tx timed out, lost interrupt? TSR=0x3, ISR=0x3, t=1000.
eth0: Tx timed out, lost interrupt? TSR=0x3, ISR=0x3, t=1000.
Socket destroy delayed (r=0 w=2176)
eth0: Tx timed out, lost interrupt? TSR=0x3, ISR=0x3, t=1000.
Socket destroy delayed (r=0 w=1664)
eth0: Tx timed out, lost interrupt? TSR=0x3, ISR=0x3, t=1000.
Socket destroy delayed (r=0 w=1280)
eth0: Tx timed out, lost interrupt? TSR=0x3, ISR=0x3, t=1000.

[...]

and the ethernet "hangs" until an
ifconfig eth0 down; ifconfig eth0 up

With 2.1.131 and below there were some

[...]
eth0: Reentering the interrupt handler! isr=0x1 imr=0x0.
[...]

but at least the network did not stop ;-)

Cheers

Steffen
