AFAIK there are no patches to 2.0 which correct all the problems.

The kernel compiles with the available patches, yes, and it runs ...
until it crashes or hangs, that is. There are simply too many
places where egcs' more aggressive optimization will get you into
trouble.

Just bite the bullet and compile 2.0 kernels with gcc 2.7.2.x.
You'll sleep better. ;-)
