Using modutils-2.1.85, modules.dep shows all is fine, but sound.o complains of sound.o: unresolved symbol mod_firmware_load_R39e3dd23, nm soundcore.o|grep mod_firmware_load_R39e3dd23 0000040c T mod_firmware_load_R39e3dd23 modutils-2.1.121 has never worked here, it gives a file size of zero bytes for modules.dep, strace shows depmod -a traverses the directories, but has nothing to do with the individual modules. Me wonders if this isn't another egcs-1.0.3a (pgcc-1.1b) bug as I could only get rpc.kmountd to not segfault by getting a friend to compile knfsd-981204 using gcc-2.8.1. Regards
