I get a bazillion errors with this particular drive with many kernels:

Dec 6 22:27:39 calvin kernel: hdc: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Dec 6 22:27:39 calvin kernel: hdc: no DRQ after issuing WRITE
Dec 6 22:27:41 calvin kernel: ide1: reset: success
Dec 6 23:30:14 calvin kernel: hdc: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Dec 6 23:30:14 calvin kernel: hdc: no DRQ after issuing WRITE
Dec 6 23:30:16 calvin kernel: ide1: reset: success
Dec 7 01:15:03 calvin kernel: hdc: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Dec 7 01:15:03 calvin kernel: hdc: no DRQ after issuing WRITE
Dec 7 01:15:05 calvin kernel: ide1: reset: success
Dec 7 01:15:22 calvin kernel: hdc: write_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
Dec 7 01:15:22 calvin kernel: hdc: write_intr: error=0x04 { DriveStatusError }
Dec 7 01:15:22 calvin kernel: hdc: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Dec 7 01:15:22 calvin kernel: hdc: no DRQ after issuing WRITE
Dec 7 01:15:24 calvin kernel: ide1: reset: success
Dec 7 04:51:19 calvin kernel: hdc: write_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
Dec 7 04:51:19 calvin kernel: hdc: write_intr: error=0x04 { DriveStatusError }
Dec 7 04:51:19 calvin kernel: hdc: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Dec 7 04:51:19 calvin kernel: hdc: no DRQ after issuing WRITE
Dec 7 04:51:21 calvin kernel: ide1: reset: success
Dec 7 06:35:55 calvin kernel: hdc: write_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }

The only thing I have been able to do is set the BIOS for that drive to
PIO mode 3 instead of "auto". Slows things down but at least the errors
stop. I would like to know the cause of it ... 2.0 and 2.1 kernels.
