G'day all,

When I boot up in 2.2.0pre5 I only see Uncompressing Kernel, but it does
boot up. I can see it in the logs when I boot up 2.1.132.

Here is what it says in the logs :
Jan 7 19:43:00 tt2 init: open(/dev/console): Operation not supported by device
Jan 7 19:43:00 tt2 last message repeated 6 times
Jan 7 19:43:00 tt2 /sbin/mingetty[339]: /dev/tty1: cannot open tty: Operation not supported by device

Here is relavent section (I think) from my config :

#
# Character devices
#
CONFIG_VT=y
CONFIG_VT_CONSOLE=y
CONFIG_SERIAL=y
# CONFIG_SERIAL_CONSOLE is not set
# CONFIG_SERIAL_EXTENDED is not set
# CONFIG_SERIAL_NONSTANDARD is not set
CONFIG_UNIX98_PTYS=y
CONFIG_UNIX98_PTY_COUNT=256
CONFIG_PRINTER=y
# CONFIG_PRINTER_READBACK is not set
CONFIG_MOUSE=y

Cheers Mof.
