When running quake2 (3.20), libc6 or libc5, I get an immediate kernel
oops:

At this point my /dev/dsp becomes forever busy, i.e. I can not play
sound, so I am assuming the abot has something to do with a sound
problem (that and the fact that the last message from quake2 is "sound
initialization").

Also note that if I now run quake2 again, it runs fine other than the
fact that I cannot get sound -- since quake2 see's /dev/dsp is busy it
does not try to initialize it and thus avoids the oops. I am using the
OSS pre-compile sound drivers for 2.2.0-final.

Some pertinent information about my installation (if more is needed
please let me know!):
