Parport printing lasts very long on 2.2.1-SMP

Last friday i tried to print over the parport on a smp (2 processors)
machine under 2.2.1 the redhat postscript test page needs 1 hour to
print. It works with 2.2.0 and single cpu at home (no differences in the
parport drivers i think) so maybe it is a SMP-related problem ...

more /proc/parport/0/hardware gives on both machines

dma : none
modes : SPP,PS2,EPP
