Just as a note of why people are getting this... you either didn't
upgrade your version of 'patch' to a newer version... or you untarred
2.2.1 over an older copy of the linux source tree.

It'll screw up dependancies and compile checksum.c (which is 0 byte)
instead of checksum.S.
