kernel: kmalloc of too large block

Hi

I got some problems with my AHA2940-U2W controllers. I know, it belongs
more to linux-scsi, but I posted it there but got no answer until now.
The added messages are out of /var/log/warn and /var/log/messages; can
anyone explain the "kmalloc"-messages to me? The problem appears
under high load; I got two stripes on two 2940-U2W. The second one works
fine, but the first one breaks under high I/O-load (copying files etc.).
My system is a SMP with two PII-400, 1 GB RAM and three U2W-cards, running
SuSE 6.0 (kernel 2.0.36). I added the latest aic7xxx-driver to the kernel
but that did not help.
Any suggestions?

Dietmar
