[BUG] SCSI/aha152x lockup on 2.2.6 while reading faulty cd-rom

Simon J Mudd (sjmudd@bitmailer.net)
Sun, 18 Apr 1999 15:45:11 +0200 (CET)

I can reproducibly hang 2.2.6 if reading a faulty cd-rom. I don't expect
to be able to read the cd-rom, but I don't think the kernel should lock up
completely in this situation. I know this is old hardware, but any help
would be appreciated. If more info is needed I'll provide it on request.

Below are the console messages (no oops appears on the screen), followed
by a hardware listing and .config used to compile the kernel.

reproduce by:

mount /mnt/cdrom [ to mount a redhat 5.2 cdrom 1 ]
[ from /etc/fstab: /dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom iso9660,noauto 0 0 ]
cd /mnt/cdrom/images
cat boot.img >> /dev/null
