I realize these lockups probably have nothing to do with Linux, but
I do use primarily Linux, and only have errors reported by it, plus
you people seem to usually be nice, so I'm posting this here :)

Here's the deal; my computer locks up psuedo-randomly, I think the
problem occurs when I do things with high CPU/RAM usage and IO usage
at the same time; here are some things that make it lock up (in order
of most likely to lock up to least likely to lock up):
snes9x w/ sound on
blender
netscape (can cause seg fault with OOPS, or lock up..)
compiling (usually sig11's or OOPSes rather than lockup)
program I wrote to eat CPU and do lots with RAM (NEVER locks up.. go
figure)
Anyway, I'm running Linux 2.2.7andrea2, but the same thing happens with
the whole
2.1.x series and 2.2.x series, as for the 2.0.x series, I get hdc
timeouts when I
compile (hdc is my main drive), and it locks after about 5mins of use no
matter what..
FreeBSD also causes panics, and Windows just *locks*.. no telling what's
happening
there... anyway, I'm attaching output of various files from /proc, good
luck! :)
Thanks,
Zinx Verituse
