Well, there's a data point in common. I am also running egcs-1990502.
I compiled with -O99 -fomit-frame-pointer -march=k6 -mcpu=k6. binutils
2.9.1.0.21, glibc 2.1. It's probably the compiler. Thanks for the response.
I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in my pain. :)
