This sounds like what happened in the U.S. about three years ago.

At least in the U.S., Linus Torvalds holds the trademark. See
"http://www.ssc.com/linux/trademark/", and
"http://www.linuxmall.com/Allann/lxtm.001.html". I have no idea if this
trademark would be valid in Brazil.
