What client are you using to generate THAT kind of load. When I benchmark
kHTTPd on localhost (using ApacheBench), ApacheBench takes virtually all of
the CPU.

I haven't installed 2.3 yet... But the module is rather clean, i.e. it only
uses "normal" module calls.
