2.3.6 can't load libutil.so.1 on boot

I just upgraded my kernel to 2.3.6 and my RedHat6.0 system
fails just after the it attempts to mount the file system
read-only at boot time and complains about not being able
to load libutil.so.1.

All the 2.3.4 works as does 2.2.5-15 that comes with RedHat
6.0

Anybody having the same problem too ?
