Kernelmessage: kernel: Unable to load interpreter

Hi,
my 2.0.36 kernel shows this message after several days of working

kernel: Unable to load interpreter

(which seems to come out the binfmt_elf module)
Does anyone know the reason why?
the system is a P133 with 64MB ram an adaptec 7871...
