The discussion is not threads vs events, but threads vs processes.
Rob Pike's observation that "threads" is generally an attempt to avoid
fixing slow process creation is still on the money. If you can't make
a "multithreaded" application run easily and efficiently on your OS, then
the problem is not solved by adding another context abstraction to the OS.
