[1.] 2.2.5 is unstable on Dell PC with aix7xxx scsi, 2.0.36 is stable

[2.] Several machines which were running redhat 5.2 with 2.0.36 kernel quite
happily were wiped and reinstalled with redhat 6.0 and 2.2.5 kernel. They now
crash every few days, sometimes with no message at all, sometimes with an oops
on the console but not in the logs.

[3.] 2.2.5 crashes

[4.] Linux version 2.2.5-22 (root@porky.devel.redhat.com) (gcc version
egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)) #1 Wed Jun 2 09:17:03 EDT
1999

[5.] (transcribed into notebook and then retyped)
