Did you see the thread in this list that esr started about
~"some very thought provoking ideas about ..."
what comes after unix? That thread included remarks from esr, Shapiro at
or formerly at the IBM Watson Center and prime mover of the EROS project,
Linus Torvalds, Richard Stallman, Alan Cox, Bernd Paysan and Jim Gettys.
Possibly the most terrifying assemblage of brains I've ever seen in a
single conversation. That's not the real interesting part though. The real
interesting part is that not everybody else jumped in. The selection of
who was in the conversation occured naturally. There was no pre-selection.
None was required. Openness works. That's why all those mentioned above
are not bullshitting about openness. None of those monsters has anything
to fear from it.

Good sports teams go out on the field to show how good they are. Great
teams go out on the field to find out. This is why Linus is a Champion.
Show him the code.
