What you are looking for is probably IEEE 802.11. A
very popular system based on this standard is Lucent
WaveLan. The driver provided by Lucent supports the
proprietary 5 and 10 Mb/s modulations for shorter range.
I'm just now using WaveLan with Andy's driver. It works
beautifully.
