Hello all,

I found some problems with compiling and loading of the IDE module
stuff:

gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O
-fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe
-mpreferred-stack-boundary=2 -DCPU=686 -march=i686 -DMODULE
-DMODVERSIONS -include /usr/src/linux/include/linux/modversions.h
-DMODULE_NAME=\"cmos-probe_\" -c -o cmos-probe.o cmos-probe.c
ld -m elf_i386 -r -o ide-probe-mod.o ide-probe.o cmos-probe.o
cmos-probe.o(.modinfo+0x0): multiple definition of
`__module_kernel_version'
ide-probe.o(.modinfo+0x0): first defined here
cmos-probe.o(.modinfo+0x19): multiple definition of
`__module_using_checksums'
ide-probe.o(.modinfo+0x19): first defined here
make[2]: *** [ide-probe-mod.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.3.18ac6/drivers/block'
make[1]: *** [_modsubdir_block] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.3.18ac6/drivers'
make: *** [_mod_drivers] Error 2
215.220u 20.030s 4:02.52 97.0% 0+0k 0+0io 470280pf+0w

I've fixed it with:

'linux/drivers/block/cmos-probe.c'

#include <linux/config.h>
- #include <linux/module.h>
#include <linux/types.h>

and

'/etc/modules.conf'

alias block-major-3 ide-probe-mod
^^^^^^^^

Regards,
Dieter
