I've tested your patch (in a somewhat modified form, to get it to work
with the v2.2.13pre12 kernel.)

It _almost_ recognizes my processor correctly... :^)

This is the output from cpuinfo:

processor : 0
vendor_id : unknown (That'd be IBM, presumably...)
cpu family : 4
model : 164
model name : IBM 486 SLC (This should be SLC2)
stepping : 33
fdiv_bug : no
hlt_bug : no
sep_bug : no
f00f_bug : no
coma_bug : no
fpu : yes
fpu_exception : no
cpuid level : -1
wp : yes
flags :
bogomips : 14.18

The processor is an IBM 486slc2 25/50...

It would of course be cool if your patch set the vendor_id field as
well...

Apart from that? Nothing to add... :^) Well done!

PS: If I'm not all wrong, there's an slc3 processor as well (available in
certain models of PS/2 model M57 9557)
