problems with 3c900 vortex

Hi,
I use a 3c900 with AUI connector.
My system is a SuSE 6.1 with 2.2.9 kernel
and I compiled the driver as module.
At some point the net stop working and I get the following
message
eth0: transmit timed out, tx_status 00 status e000.

Then I need to go to single user and reload the module.
Any idea?
