Newbie questions are best asked on linux-newbie@vger.rutgers.edu, not
on linux-kernel.

Ask Redhat. They put the kernel and System.map in /boot instead of /,
for reasons that probably make sense to them. It is a distribution
specific problem that has nothing to do with l-k.
