Anyone working on a Zone Allocator?

I recall discussion of Pizza, or "Pathetic Imitation of a Zone Allocator",
but haven't heard anything new from Rik on what was going to be his project
on the list.

Has there been any discussion of this? I'd like to help test such a mod if
it ever became available.
