It is difficult to get a dry pair if they suspect you are not going
to use it for an alarm circuit, which up until now has been the main
use for this.. but if you are lucky, you can run a private T1 equivalent
DSL line line up to 25000 feet (ok at that length, speed is more
like 384-768k), with "just" the capital cost of 1000-1500 bucks.
but dont forget to count the length as pointA--->CO--->pointB
which is almost certainly not in a straight line.
