Is anyone in looking at creating SAN (storage area network) software for Linux?

There's an interesting article on eWeek that talks about
what Dell, Veritas, Compaq and Datacore are doing to
implement this heterogenous systems network storage.

This sounds like a really valuable service. It'd be
very cool if it were available for Linux.
