Third-and-a-halfly, make sure your router to the net drops any source
routed packets that come in from your provider.

Third-and-three-quarterly (and not a linux issue, but a net security
one), make sure that your router does not allow connections to itself
from any but a host >you< trust; or it's console if you trust no machine
(better IMO)
