You using an SMP box, cos the APIC stuff on there gives out odd looking
irq's, eg my nic is on 17 and my scsi is on 19.

Otherwise the irq 255 thing is if bios hasn't given out an irq, that can
be seen on S3 video cards that don't ask for an irq from bios and pop up
as irq 255 on /proc/pci
