gpl v4 [attn: linus]

linux is in danger of hostile corporate takeovers from the
inside out
all it takes is something similar to the viral 'tivoization'
reasoning for forced gpl v3 upgardes becoming more or
less mandatory, but for v4, which will ultimately be more
corporate-friendly, and more to the point, won't be foss,
at least, not in the truer sense of what we currently refer
to as foss, today
linus torvalds needs to look at this, as i suspect a future
gpl 4 version could override v2 including lesser versions
from what i understand, linus wants a better license, so
one needs to be formed, that is truly future-proofed, in
all aspects of international law while dealing with down
stream verification issues for forks as linus wants kernel
development to be, as well as anything else, that might
make his day-to-day life easier, as well as his wishes for
the kernel development after his death
not trying to be morbid, just realistic; people too often
put off organising their final will and testament late
does linus want to be reincarnated as a robot (for lack
of a better known word; i'm aware this word might be
considered a slur in the future) based on his history in
the cloud and/or from media interviews, and/or other
sources? this is a personal question for him to decide,
however, the future of the linux kernel is at stake, and
his decision will impact the future of approval, and/or
denial, of forks, contributions, modifications, and also
additions to the kernel with many other software, too
i'm aware that this email could be heaped in the pile
of 'the crazies' and disregarded, but i truly believe as
the future evolves with virtual reincarnation, that we,
as a species need to declare in legally-binding terms
whether or not we want to be reincarnated, virtually,
after death, and preparations for recording memory,
as well as brain activity, if available, as well as cookie
data, cloud providers and any other available history
for purposes of more accurate virtual recreation of a
person
if i could get to the point, i'm saying the linux kernel
needs a new license. gpl has, already, fallen victim to
corporate influence, and moving toward a more foss
friendly license is required
does it matter that linus does or does not trust loyal
developers that he has assigned, should he pass? i'll
be first to say it does not. i've seen first-hand how a
corporate takeover insidiously happens, like cancer
any org is susceptible including non-profits, by intel
contractors, hired by corps
the only defence against the inevitable phasing-out
of governments and corporate-rule is existing itself
control of the linux kernel, for eventual ad-tracking
purposes, has already started with systemd date of
birth tracking, which will inevitably evolve, towards
compulsory personalised advertising, built into the
kernel
safeguards need to be implemented, in writing, to
prevent such a scenario, such as a reincarnated v2
of linus torvalds, constantly in development, to be
deployed after death
yes, i'm crazy, but, sometimes the crazies are actually on the money
