Question - What is your opinion on Rust being used for userland tools, such as Sudo?

Hello there! I've recently looked into the matter of the programming language, Rust, in the Linux Kernel. 
I've been wanting to ask this question ever since I got wind of this information: 

How do you feel about Rust being used in userland tools, especially security tools, such as Sudo? 
I understand that it isn't the regular version of Sudo, but instead it is a branching project, called "sudo-rs". 
However, I was still curious to ask this question nonetheless.
