I've rebased part2 on top of your part1 (and confirmed that you did
indeed pick from my unposted kvmclock8 branch and not the last posted
v7; thanks for that!). 

To avoid introducing confusion, I'll try to build stuff as fixup
commits to be autosquashed, starting with that TSC offset thing and I
think I had some other Sashiko feedback to look at too...
