Use CONFIG_BLK_LOOP_USE_REL_BLOCK (or similar) and get a DAT or any
other removable media and cp/dd it.
If you don't use CONFIG_..._BLOCK but still want to backup the file,
then do something along the following:
$ losetup -e your-cipher /dev/loop0 your-crypto-file
Password : your-passphrase
$ losetup /dev/loop1 your-crypto-backup-file
$ losetup -e your-backup-cipher /dev/loop2 /dev/loop1
Password : your-backup-passphrase
$ dd if=/dev/loop0 of=/dev/loop2
$ for i in 2 1 0; do losetup -d /dev/loop$i; done
(with this, you can even take
your-backup-{passphrase,cipher} != your-{passphrase,cipher})
and to restore it:
$ losetup /dev/loop0 your-crypto-backup-file
$ losetup -e your-backup-cipher /dev/loop1 /dev/loop0
Password : your-backup-passphrase
$ losetup -e your-cipher /dev/loop2 your-crypto-file
Password : your-passphrase
$ dd if=/dev/loop1 of=/dev/loop2
$ for i in 2 1 0; do losetup -d /dev/loop$i; done
