[2.2.14] Unable to handle kernel paging request

From: Peter Hanecak (hanecak@megaloman.com)

bug-report in "/usr/src/linux/REPORTING-BUGS" format

[1.]

i got an kernel oops in find_inode

[2.]

when running my image processing job (about 400 MB of EPS images converting
to about 2 MB of JPEGs with ImageMagic's `mogrify` my machine crashed about
3 hours after start of the job.

some "free list corrupted" messages occured on console after reboot when
image processing has been rerun.

after second freeze i performed rest of conversion on another machine
running 2.2.12 red-hat kernel.

on my machine, i got stock 2.2.14 kernel. when using stock 2.2.13 i got no
crashes (even when converting images).

similar problems i got with older kernels when converting images - see
section 7.5 .

kernel, paging request, unable to handle, find_inode

crashes of kernel when running same image processing job has been observed
by me when using kernels 2.2.10 ("Kernel panic: Free list corrupted (kernel
2.2.10-ac11) and ..."), 2.2.10-ac11 ("Kernel panic: Free list corrupted
(kernel 2.2.10-ac11) and ...") and 2.2.13-pre15 ("[2.2.13-pre15] null
pointer exception in d_lookup") - in () are subjects of my post
to linux-kernel.

also, i got memory status logged:
