Me too. However, this has always happened, even with 2.0.x kernels.
It didn't happened with the original X that came with Slackware96, but
when I upgraded X then it always started freezing the console for a while
after switching back to X.
Related? i think think so. Kernel problem? I don't think that either. But
I could be wrong. In any case, advices are appreciated.

Is the swap actually used ("free/top")? Does hard disk get read (the
drive light)?
i have here pentium 120 / 24 MiB, S3 Trio32 mirocrystal.
