Hi.
I recently added an additional command to my "append" field in
lilo.conf, and it causes the kernel to not recognize the run level
parameter at the boot prompt anymore. In other words, if I type "linux
1" at the LILO: prompt, or "linux 2" or "linux 3", etc, I still go to
the run level defined in the inittab. I made another entry in lilo.conf
without the extra "append" command, and the run level works as it
should.
Any help is appreciated.
Here's the relevant parts of lilo.conf:
boot=/dev/hda
linear
disk=/dev/sda
bios=0x81
disk=/dev/sdb
bios=0x82
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
default=linux
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.2.14.3
label=linux
read-only
root=/dev/sda2
append="hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi BusLogic=QD:[64,,,,64]"
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.2.14.3
label=linux-work
read-only
root=/dev/sda2
append="hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi"
image=... (other images, etc)
The "linux" label doesn't allow initial runlevel to be set at the
LILO prompt, but "linux-work" does. Other than the BusLogic command,
the two are identical.
