Shaper problem in 2.2.14.

Hello,

I'm soon giving up trying to get some packets go through a shaper device.
Alan or someone else who knows, is it really in a working state in 2.2.14?

This is one of the most straight variations that I've tried:

$ ifconfig eth1 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255

$ route -n
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
192.168.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth1

$ # ping some other host on that net:

$ ping -c 1 192.168.0.2
PING 192.168.0.2 (192.168.0.2): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 192.168.0.2: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=0.3 ms

--- 192.168.0.2 ping statistics ---
1 packets transmitted, 1 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 0.3/0.3/0.3 ms

$ shapecfg attach shaper0 eth1

$ shapecfg speed shaper0 64000

$ ifconfig shaper0 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255

$ route -n

Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
192.168.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth1

$ # Remove the eth1 route (ifconfig really sucks):

$ route del -net 192.168.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 dev eth1

$ ping -c 1 192.168.0.2
PING 192.168.0.2 (192.168.0.2): 56 data bytes

--- 192.168.0.2 ping statistics ---
1 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss

$

This is on a clean Debian 2.1r4 box using a plain 2.2.14 linux kernel.
