See above subject. After mounting SHM on startup with the following:
mount -t shm none /var/shm &>/dev/null || :
(no errors are recieved)
The directory is there, but that's about all that's normal - when just
doing a 'mount', the shm directory does not show up. After doing a
'umount /var/shm' - comes back with a message saying /var/shm isn't
mounted. How about another 'mount /var/shm' - comes back with a message
saying it's already mounted. I'm sure I'm not the only one who did a
double-take when this happened. It's preventing me from running X &
Enlightenment under pre4-3, because it comes back with oodles of errors
about IMLIB not being able to do some stuff with SHM (not normal.), and X
complains about a bunch of undefined symbols (I'm pretty sure that's not
normal either.) - after all of that mess, X completely locks after a
couple seconds, disabling any use of Sysrq or telnetting into this
machine. Guess I have to revert back to pre4-2.
