RedHat has 0.90 RAID (with autodetect) in their ``stock'' kernel. 2.2.14
has the older RAID code in, because of compatibility concerns with 2.0 and
2.2 kernels.
The new RAID is currently being merged into 2.3 btw.

Latest patch for 2.2.14 (applies to 2.2.15pre16 as well with an easy
fixable reject in raid1.c):

Huh ? Don't know - I haven't used initrd for a long time, as the 0.90
RAID allows you to boot with root fs on RAID without initrd :)
